Emergency Jacking

WARNING: Do not position jack on lower body trim (if equipped). Using lower body trim as a jacking point may result in damage to the trim or the vehicle rolling off the jack, causing severe injury.

Ensure that parking park is set. Shift into "P" (Park) for automatic transmission, or "R" (Reverse) for manual transmission. Block the front and rear of the wheel diagonally opposite of the wheel being lifted. Position the jack vertically and raise the jack by turning the handle clockwise until the jack head recess fits around the flange of the body between the two bosses. See Fig 1. Continue to raise the jack slowly until the tire clears the ground. Do not raise vehicle more than necessary.
