Vehicle Speed Sensor

Raise and support vehicle. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Rotate right rear wheel with left rear wheel blocked. Using DVOM, measure voltage between PCM connector C51-2, terminal No. 1 and ground. See Fig 1 . DVOM display should indicate a voltage deflection of 0-1 volt and 8-14 volts while rotating wheel. If reading is not as specified, perform diagnostic test for DTC P0500. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
