DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8°F (-14°C) or more, vehicle is at an altitude of 6650 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 72 kPa or more.
Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at 40 MPH or more with engine speed at 2500-3000 RPM. Keep this speed for 6 minutes or more (throttle valve opening should be kept constant). Release accelerator pedal and keep vehicle coasting in gear with fuel cut for 3 seconds or more. Stop vehicle and let it idle.
Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC P0134 resets, see DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE .
If no current or pending DTC is retrieved, check completion status of HO2S monitoring test in READINESS TESTS mode. If HO2S-1 monitoring test is not completed, check vehicle condition and repeat DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If HO2S-1 monitoring test is completed, problem is intermittent.
