DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8°F (-14°C) or more, vehicle is at an altitude of 6650 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 72 kPa or more. Engine coolant temperature should be at 14-86°F (-10-30°C) at engine start. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at more than 40 MPH for 15 minutes. Stop vehicle and let engine idle for one minute. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC.
