Extension Case (2WD): Removal

Disconnect negative cable from battery.
Lift up the vehicle and drain ATF. See DRAINING & REFILLING under LUBRICATION.
Remove rear drive shaft from extension case, see appropriate DRIVE SHAFTS AND UNIVERSAL JOINTS article in DRIVELINE/AXLES.
Disconnect vehicle speed sensor connector.
Disconnect A/T output speed sensor connector. See Figure .
Support transmission with a transmission jack "1". Try not to apply jack against oil pan as much as possible.
Remove rear mounting. See Fig 1 .
Remove extension case from transmission.
