Occupant Classification Module (OCM) System REZEROING Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki XL-7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ensure ignition is off. Visually confirm passenger front seat assembly is not contacting other parts. Connect Suzuki scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under driver-side instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Select MISC TEST on scan tool. Using scan tool, perform SYSTEM REZERO SETTING. If system will not rezero, go to next step.
  2. Loosen front passenger seat bolts. Move seat back and forth. Tighten front passenger seat bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Move passenger seat back and forth several times. Repeat rezeroing procedure. If OCM system rezeroing is successful, procedure is complete. If OCM system rezeroing is not successful, go to next step.
  3. Remove passenger front seat. Visually inspect seat track and floor board for debris or other conditions which could affect secure contact between seat and floorboard. Reinstall seat. Perform rezeroing procedure. If OCM will not rezero, replace seat track adjusters and attempt to rezero OCM system. If OCM will still not rezero, inspect seat assembly for damage and distortion.
