Cuts Out Or Misses

- Perform On-Board Diagnostic II System Check.
- Perform Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) System Check.
- Check ignition system and grounds.
- Check spark plugs.
- Check secondary ignition wires.
- Ensure ignition control wiring harness is not routed too close to wiring which may cause induced voltage signals.
- Check ignition coil connections.
- Check for restricted fuel filter.
- Check for faulty injector(s) and connections.
- Check fuel pressure.
- Check for vacuum leaks.
- Check engine compression.
- Check valve timing.
- Check for damaged or worn push rods, rocker arms, valve springs and camshaft lobes.
- Check Throttle Position (TP) sensor and circuit.
- Check for faulty PCV system.
- Check for EGR valve sticking open.
- Check for proper Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor resistance.
- Check for proper idle speed.
- Check for sticking or leaking valves.
- Check for faulty motor mounds.
- Check for faulty PCM grounds.
- Check for throttle body tampering.
- Check for faulty Idle Air Control (IAC) and throttle bore restrictions.
- Check for restricted air flow.
- Check for restricted exhaust system.
- Check for faulty Transmission Range (TR) switch circuit.
- Check for faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor and circuit.
- Ensure presence of a brake switch signal.
- Check idle speed.
- Check for contaminated fuel.
