Stabilizer Bar: Removal

- Remove side under cover and center under cover.
- Remove steering wheel, air bag module assembly, and clock spring. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE & CLOCKSPRING under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in AIR BAG article under RESTRAINTS SYSTEMS.
- Remove center member.
- Remove front exhaust pipe.
- Remove power steering hose clamp. See Fig 1 .
- Remove rear roll stopper connecting bolt.
- Remove steering shaft cover.
- Remove steering gear and joint connecting bolt.
- Use a transmission jack to hold the crossmember, and then remove the crossmember mounting nuts and bolts. See Fig 2 .
- Lower the crossmember until the fixtures, bushings, stabilizer links, and the stabilizer bar can be removed.
