Stabilizer Bar: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install stabilizer bar. See Figure .
  2. Align the stabilizer bar identification mark with the right end of the bushing (left-hand side). See Fig 1 .
  3. Tighten the self-locking nut until the stabilizer link thread part protruding length is as shown. See Figure .
  4. Install steering gear and joint connecting bolt. See Figure .
  5. Install steering shaft cover.
  6. Install rear roll stopper connecting bolt.
  7. Install power steering hose clamp.
  8. Install front exhaust pipe. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Install center member.
  10. Install steering wheel, air bag module assembly, and clock spring. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE & CLOCKSPRING under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in AIR BAG article under RESTRAINTS SYSTEMS.
  11. Install side under cover and center under cover.
