Strut Assembly: Reassembly

- Install lower spring pad to strut assembly. See Figure .
- Install coil spring.
- Install bump rubber.
- Install upper spring pad.
- Install upper spring seat.
- Install bearing.
- Install strut insulator assembly.
- Install the Spring Compressor (MB991237) and Arm Set (MB991238) to the strut assembly same. See Figure . While the coil spring is being compressed by Spring Compressor (MB991237) and Arm Set (MB991238), temporarily tighten the self-locking nut.
- Align the hole in the strut assembly lower spring seat with the hole in the upper spring seat. See Fig 1 . Align both ends of the coil spring with the grooves in the spring seat, and then loosen Spring Compressor (MB991237) and Arm Set (MB991238).
- Using Wrench (MB991681) and Socket (MB991682), tighten the self locking nut to specification. See Figure . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
CAUTION:
DO NOT use an impact wrench to tighten the bolt of Spring Compressor (MB991237), otherwise the special tool will break.
NOTE:
Ensure that the bearing is seated correctly.
