- Using Spring Compressor (MB991237) and Arm Set (MB991238), compress the coil spring. See Fig 1 .Then using Wrench (MB991681) and Socket (MB991682), to secure the strut, and then remove the self-locking nut. See Fig 2 .
- Remove strut insulator assembly. See Fig 3 .
- Remove bearing.
- Remove upper spring seat.
- Remove upper spring pad.

- Remove coil spring.
- Remove lower spring pad.
- The gas must be discharged from the strut assembly before discarding it. Place the assembly horizontally with its position rod extended. Then drill a hole of approximately 0.1" (3.0 mm) in diameter in the location shown, and discharge the gas. See Fig 4 .
WARNING:
DO NOT use an impact wrench to remove the self-locking nut. Vibration of the impact wrench will cause Spring Compressor (MB991237) and Arm Set (MB991238) to slip and cause personal injury.
CAUTION:
Install Spring Compressor (MB991237) and Arm Set (MB991238) evenly and so that the maximum length will be attained within the installation range. DO NOT use an impact wrench to tighten the bolt of Spring Compressor (MB991237), otherwise the Spring Compressor (MB991237) will break.
WARNING:
Wear goggles when drilling to protect your eyes from flying metal debris.
