Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Isuzu Trooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. After repairs are performed, clear PCM memory of all stored codes. Ensure ignition is off. To clear codes, use scan tool CLEAR DTCS or CLEAR INFO function. Follow instructions supplied by tool manufacturer when clearing DTCs.
  2. DTCs can also be cleared by disconnecting the PCM power source or negative battery cable for at least 30 seconds. However, if disconnecting battery, other memory functions (clock, radio, etc.) will need to be reset.
