System Operation Check

WARNING: Accidental air bag deployment is possible. Personal injury may result. Read and follow all WARNINGS and AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS before working on air bag system or related components.

Turn ignition on. AIR BAG warning light on instrument panel should come on for about 7 seconds and then turn off. This indicates SRS is functioning properly. If AIR BAG warning light does not come on, stays on or comes on while driving, SRS is malfunctioning and needs repair. See DIAGNOSTICS .
