Idle Speed

  1. Idle speed is controlled by Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and is not adjustable. Throttle stop screw is preset at factory and sealed in position. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  table. When installing a new Idle Air Control (IAC) valve, turn ignition off and replace original with identical part.

    Application RPM
    2.2L, 3.2L & 3.5L (1) 750
    (1) Idle speed is controlled by PCM and is not adjustable.
  2. Replacement IAC valve calibration is input into PCM by cycling ignition on and off. Start engine and compare idle speed with specification. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  table. If idle speed is not as specified. Repeat calibration input procedure and recheck idle speed.
