Removal (Grand Vitara, Vitara & XL-7)

CAUTION: As ECM (PCM) consists of precision parts, be careful not to expose it to excessive shock.

Disconnect battery negative cable from battery.
Disable air bag system. See DISABLING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT article.
Remove ECM (PCM) cover (1) from bracket. See Figure .
Disconnect connectors from ECM (PCM) (1).
Remove ECM (PCM) (1) with bracket (2). See Figure .
