Installation (Outlander)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
When installing drive shaft, be careful not to damage oil seal lip on transfer case. See Fig 1. Remove oil and grease from threads of bolt and nuts before tightening, or they will loosen.
- If installing original drive shaft assembly, align mating marks of differential companion flange and propeller shaft assembly to install. If installing a new drive shaft assembly, align mark on drive shaft tube with mark at side of differential companion flange. See Figure.
- Apply clean engine oil to tips of high-pressure fuel hose, main pipe nozzle and fuel main pipe, and connect quick-joint connector of high-pressure fuel hose to them. Pull high-pressure fuel hose gently in direction of removal to check that hose is firmly connected.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Replenish fuel. Check for any fuel leaks and repair as necessary.
