Removal (Outlander)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. CAUTION:
On 4WD equipped models, DO NOT damage float when removing and installing fuel pump module through access hole.
- Fuel pump is attached to fuel pump module, located in fuel tank. See Figure. Remove rear seat cushion. See Figure. Remove fuel pump module access plate screws and remove fuel pump module access plate. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect fuel pump module harness connectors. Disconnect high pressure fuel hose and fuel tank hoses. See Figure. Unscrew mounting nuts to remove fuel pump module. See Fig 2.
