Removal (Eclipse & Galant)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
While pulling rear seat stopper, lift up and remove rear seat cushion. See Fig 1. Remove fuel pump module access hole cover. See Fig 2. Working through access hole, cover fuel hose with a shop towel and disconnect fuel hoses at fuel pump module.
Disconnect electrical connector(s) at fuel pump module. Using Fuel Pump Module Remover/Installer (MB991480), remove fuel pump module. See Fig 3.
