Installation (Eclipse 3.0L)
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, and 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. CAUTION:
When installing high-pressure fuel hose, DO NOT let engine oil in fuel rail.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Install NEW intake manifold gasket as shown. See Figure. Coat intake manifold mounting studs with engine oil. See Figure. Tighten intake manifold nuts in sequence to specification. See Figure. Install NEW delivery pipe assembly insulators.
- When connecting high-pressure fuel hose to fuel rail, apply a drop of new engine oil to NEW "O" ring, and insert, being careful not to damage "O" ring. See Figure. Check that high-pressure fuel hose turns smoothly. If not, remove hose and reinsert it into fuel rail and check again. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
