Camshaft Position Sensor

However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

On Diamante, Eclipse 3.0L and Galant 3.0L, CMP sensor is located in distributor assembly. On these vehicles, test at distributor assembly 7-pin connector. On all other vehicles, test at CMP sensor 3-pin connector. Using test harness, or backprobing, connect lab scope pick-up to distributor assembly connector terminal No. 5, or CMP sensor connector terminal No. 2. Start engine. Compare waveform to normal waveform. See Figure, Figure or Figure . Waveform frequency should increase as engine speed is increased.
