Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers in the diagnostic procedures.

  1. 2

    If RPL turns off when PCM harness connectors are disconnected, RPL driver wiring is not at fault. If RPL driver circuit tests okay, instrument cluster is faulty.

  2. 3

    IF RPL driver circuit is okay, instrument panel cluster is suspect.

  3. 10

    Vehicle is equipped with a Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM). When PCM is replaced, the new PCM must be programmed. See EEPROM PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE under POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE.
