Shift Control Levers Removal and Installation: Installation

  1. If control lever locating bolts (1) are replaced or retightened, torque them as specified. Replacing of control lever locating bolts (1) requires thread lock cement.

    "B": Thread lock cement 99000-32020 

    Tightening torque 

    Transmission control lever locating bolt (a): 23 N.m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 lb-ft) 

    Transfer control lever locating bolt (b): 17 N.m (1.7 kg-m, 12.5 lb-ft) 

  2. Apply grease to pivot portions and seat, then install shift control lever.

    "A": Grease 99000-25010

  3. Install transmission boot No. 1 (1) from inside of cabin and clamp it with a new clamp (2) securely.

  4. Install transfer boot No. 1 (1) securely on lift and clamp it by using a new clamp (2).

  5. Tighten transmission boot No. 2 with boot cover (2) and console box bracket (1).

    Tightening torque 

    Control lever boot cover bolt (a): 6 N.m (0.6 kg-m, 4.5 lb-ft) 

  6. Install console box.
NOTE: Be sure that flare end of transmission boot No. 3 (3) is engaged with console box.
