DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure engine coolant temperature is at engine start, between 86°F (30°C). Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC, located below left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at more than 35 MPH for 3 minutes or more. Stop vehicle and let engine idle for 3 minutes or more. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If same DTC P0111 resets, see DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE  .
