DTC Confirmation Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 25 MPH for 1 second. Stop vehicle. Check for DTC P0451. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
