DTC P0461: Fuel Level Sensor Circuit - Performance Problem: Condition

DTC is set when Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that fuel level sensor voltage change is less than expected for amount of fuel being consumed. ECM continuously monitors this circuit. MIL is illuminated when ECM detects malfunction during 2 consecutive drive cycles. Possible causes are:
- Short or open circuit between fuel level sensor, fuel level gauge and ECM.
- Fuel level sensor malfunction.
- Fuel level gauge malfunction.
- ECM malfunction.
