Removal & Installation (2.2L)

- Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect fuel inlet and return lines. Disconnect fuel injector harness connectors. Remove fuel rail wiring harness nuts. Remove fuel rail-to-intake manifold bolts. See Fig 1.
- Lift up fuel rail with fuel injectors. Unless fuel injectors are to be replaced, DO NOT separate fuel injectors from fuel rail. Drain residual fuel into appropriate container.
- Remove fuel injector retaining clip. Remove fuel injector from fuel rail. Remove "O" ring seals.
- Install NEW "O" rings on injector and lube with engine oil. Install injector into fuel rail using NEW retainer clips. Coat end of injector with engine oil. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
