DTC Confirmation Test (For DTC P1451)

  1. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
  2. Drive vehicle with engine at 3000 RPM in 3rd gear (A/T) or 2nd gear (M/T). Release accelerator pedal and allow vehicle to coast (with vehicle in gear) for 5 seconds or more with engine speed of 1600-3000 RPM. Stop vehicle and allow engine to idle.
  3. Preform step  2 2 more times, for three times total. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC P1451. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC resets, go to DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE .
