DTC P0340: Camshaft Position Sensor - Circuit Malfunction: Reference
Camshaft POS and REF signals can be read using an oscilloscope connected between specified ECM terminals. To read CMP POS signal, access ECM. ECM is located under instrument panel, behind glove box. See Figure. Backprobbing at ECM, connect oscilloscope leads to ECM harness connector C51-1 terminal No. 13 (Yellow/Blue wire) and C51-3 terminal No. 26 (Gray/Yellow wire). See Figure. For REF signal, connect oscilloscope leads to ECM harness connector C51-1 terminal No. 12 (Yellow/Green wire) and C51-3 terminal No. 26 (Gray/Yellow wire). Compare CKP sensor waveform, to waveform in illustration. See Fig 1.
