Transmission Range Switch (A/T)

NOTE: Transmission Range (TR) switch may also be referred to as park/neutral position switch or shift switch.
  1. Apply parking brake. Disconnect Transmission Range (TR) switch harness connector located on side of transmission. See Figure , Figure or Figure .
  2. Check for continuity between specified terminals, at TR switch with shift lever in specified positions. See appropriate TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH SPECIFICATIONS table. See Figure , Fig 1 or Fig 2 . If continuity is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Check TR switch adjustment. See TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH (A/T)  under ADJUSTMENTS. Repeat step  2 . If continuity is not as specified, replace TR switch. See TRANSMISSION RANGE SWITCH (A/T)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
