Removal & Installation
- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Remove front and rear center console box. See Fig 1. Remove center garnish panel. Remove ashtray, clock, stereo, stereo pocket, and stereo hole cover. Disconnect Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) connector. Remove 3 bolts from SDM. Remove SDM from vehicle.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure arrow on SDM is pointing toward front of vehicle. Tighten SDM bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
