Exhaust Gas Recirculation Test

For PCM to start and run EGR test, following conditions must exist:

Throttle position angle is less than .8 percent.
EGR duty cycle is less than one percent.
MAP sensor signal is steady, changing less than 2 kPa.
Engine speed is 1100-2000 RPM (M/T) or 900-1500 RPM (A/T).
Map sensor signal is 10-40 kPa.

EGR test will be aborted if vehicle speed changes by 10 mph or more, engine speed changes by 100 RPM or more or EGR valve is opened less than 95 percent of commanded position.

PCM will only run EGR test during closed throttle (deceleration) conditions.
PCM will only run EGR test at vehicle speed above 15 mph.
Several deceleration cycles will be necessary to run a sufficient number of EGR valve flow tests.
