Cruise Control Systems: Description

WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.

NOTE: Cruise Control Electronic Control Unit (CC ECU) may also be referred to as cruise control module.

Cruise control system consists of Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), brakelight switch, CC ECU/actuator, cruise control main switch, Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch (M/T), Transmission Range (TR) switch (A/T), SET/COAST switch, ACCEL/RESUME switch and CANCEL switch. See Fig 1 , Fig 2 or Fig 3
