Eclipse, Galant, Lancer & Outlander

  1. Turn A/C and lights OFF. Inspect and adjust at no load. Warm engine until stabilized at idle. Confirm idle speed is at prescribed RPM. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  under IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE. Stop engine (ignition switch OFF).
  2. Confirm there are no sharp bends in accelerator cable. Check inner cable for correct slack. Standard value is 0.04-0.08" (1-2 mm). If there is too much slack or no slack, go to next step.
  3. Loosen adjusting bolt to release cable. See Fig 1-Fig 3 . Move plate until inner cable play is at standard value, then tighten adjusting bolt. After adjusting check that throttle lever touches stopper.
