DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure engine coolant temperature is 14-86°F (-10-30°C) when vehicle is first started, vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. With ignition switch OFF, connect scan tool. See Figure . Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC by using scan tool if any. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  . Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature. Increase vehicle speed to 35 MPH (56 KM/H) for 30 sec. Stop vehicle and run engine at idle speed for 10 sec. Check DTC and pending DTC by using scan tool. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  .
