Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If DTC P1451 is set, go to next step. If DTC P1450 is set, replace ECM (PCM) and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If DTCs P1450 and P1451 are not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See INTERMITTENTS TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Backprobing, measure voltage between ECM (PCM) 26-pin connector C51-3 terminals No. 13 (Red/White wire) and No. 20 (Gray/Yellow wire). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Reading should be 3.3-4 volts. Start engine and allow it to idle. Reading should be less than 3.3 volts. If readings are as specified, replace ECM (PCM) and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  . If readings are not as specified, go to DTC P0107/P0108. See DTC P0107 OR DTC P0108  .
