Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. If engine system check has been performed, go to next step. If engine system check has not been performed, see and perform A4: ENGINE SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS and go to next step.
  2. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect EGR valve coupler. Turn ignition switch ON and check voltage between connector C04 terminal No. 2 and ground and terminal No. 5 and ground. If each voltage is 10-14 volts, go to next step. If not, check for faulty Blue/Black wire.
  3. With ignition switch OFF, connect EGR valve coupler and disconnect ECM (PCM) coupler. Check resistance between connector C51-2 terminal No. 20 and terminals No. 4, No. 5, No. 16 and No. 17. If each resistance is 20-24ohm at 68°F (20°C), check for intermittent trouble or faulty ECM (PCM). If not, check for open or faulty Light Green, Light Green/White, Light Green/Red or Light Green/Yellow wire.
