DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 30-40 MPH and engine speed of 2000-3000 RPM for 3 minutes. Stop vehicle. Check for DTC P0401/P0402. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
