DTC Confirmation Test

  1. Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C), vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 74 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 35 MPH or more for 5 minutes. Increase vehicle speed to 50-60 MPH and engine speed to 2500-3000 RPM for one minute. Release accelerator pedal and allow vehicle to coast (with vehicle in gear). Stop vehicle. Check for DTC and pending DTC using scan tool. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
