DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8-158°F (-14-70°C) or more, and engine coolant temperature is 18-230°F (-8-110°C). Vehicle is at an altitude of 9150 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 75 kPa or more. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC, located below left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and drive vehicle at 35 MPH for 5 minutes. Stop vehicle and let it idle for one minute. Drive vehicle with engine speed at 2500 RPM for 30 seconds or more. Stop vehicle. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If same DTC P0101 resets, see DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE  .
