DTC C1061/61: Abs Pump Motor Circuit
- Check operation of ABS hydraulic unit. See HYDRAULIC UNIT OPERATION CHECK under COMPONENT TESTS. If operation check proves hydraulic unit is okay, check Black/Red wire at ABS hydraulic unit/control module 34-pin electrical harness connector terminals No. 2 and No. 14 for proper contact and connection. If connections are okay, substitute known-good ABS hydraulic unit/control module assembly and repeat test. If operation check does not prove hydraulic unit is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off and disconnect ABS hydraulic unit/control module 34-pin electrical harness connector. Check Black/Red wire at ABS hydraulic unit/control module 34-pin electrical harness connector terminal No. 14 for proper contact and connection. If connection is okay, measure voltage of Black/Red wire between ABS hydraulic unit/control module 34-pin electrical harness connector terminal No. 14 and good body ground point. If voltage reading is 10-14 volts, go to next step. If voltage reading is not 10-14 volts, repair open Black/Red wire between ABS hydraulic unit/control module and engine compartment fuse/relay block.
- Measure resistance of Black wire between ABS hydraulic unit/control module 34-pin electrical harness connector terminal No. 13 and good body ground point. If resistance reading is infinite, repair open ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance reading is not infinite, substitute known-good ABS hydraulic unit/control module assembly and repeat test.
