DTC P1717: A/T Drive Range Signal Circuit Malfunction: Condition

DTC is set when Engine Control Module (ECM) detects no Drive range signal while driving vehicle. DTC is also set when ECM detects Park or Neutral range signal while driving vehicle. MIL is illuminated when ECM detects malfunction during 2 consecutive drive cycles. Possible causes are:

• Open circuit between Transmission Control Module (TCM) and ECM.
• Transmission range sensor malfunction.
• Open circuit between transmission range sensor and TCM.
• Open TCM power or ground circuit.
• TCM malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
