DTC Confirmation Test
- Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8°F (-14°C) or more, vehicle is at an altitude of 8000 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 75 kPa or more. Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
- Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds of 40 MPH (engine speed at 2500-3000 RPM) or more for 6 minutes or more with throttle constant. Release accelerator pedal and allow vehicle to coast for 3 seconds or more (with vehicle in gear). Stop vehicle. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC P0134. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC is not set, check completion status of HO2S monitoring test in READINESS TESTS mode. If testing has not been completed, go to next step.
- Perform visual inspection of HO2S No. 1. Check that harness connector is securely connected. Visually inspect engine compartment for faults. If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair repeat DTC confirmation test. If no problem is found. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC P0134. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
