DTC Confirmation Test

Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and shift transmission into Drive. Drive vehicle at speeds of more than 20 MPH and stop vehicle. Repeat drive and stop procedure 9 more times. Shift transmission into 2nd gear and repeat drive and stop procedure 5 more times. Shift transmission into 1st gear and repeat drive and stop procedure 5 more times. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC P1717. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC resets, go to DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE  .
