DTC P1717: A/T Drive Range Signal Circuit Malfunction: Condition

DTC is set when Engine Control Module (ECM) detects no Drive range signal while driving vehicle. ECM continuously monitors this circuit. MIL is illuminated when ECM detects malfunction during 2 consecutive drive cycles. Possible causes are:

• Open circuit between Transmission Control Module (TCM) and ECM.
• Transmission range sensor malfunction.
• Open circuit between transmission range sensor and TCM.
• Open TCM power or ground circuit.
• TCM malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
