DTC P0496: EVAP System - Flow During Non-Purge: Condition

DTC is set when fuel tank internal pressure decreasing in fuel tank is more than specified after ECM has commanded EVAP canister purge valve closed. ECM monitors this circuit once per drive cycle. MIL is illuminated when ECM detects malfunction during 2 consecutive drive cycles. Possible causes are:

• EVAP canister purge valve malfunction.
• Short in EVAP system circuits.
• ECM malfunction.
