Electric Cooling Fans: Description

The cooling system consists of the radiator cap, radiator, coolant reservoir tank, hoses, water pump, cooling fan, thermostat. The cooling fan is driven by electric motor, and the motor is activated by Engine Control Module (ECM) and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.

System controls operation (ON/OFF) of the radiator fan motor. Radiator fan motor is turned to ON and OFF by its relay which ECM controls. Radiator fan motor is turned to ON/OFF under the following engine coolant temperature. Radiator fan motor turns ON at above 208°F (97.5°C). Radiator fan motor turns OFF at below 200°F (92.5°C).
