Ignition Switch & Door Switch Circuit
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect PDL/RKE controller harness connector. Connect negative battery cable.
- Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, check for voltage at PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Red wire). See Figure . With ignition switch in OFF position, DVOM should read about zero volts. With ignition switch in ON position, DVOM should read 10-14 volts. If readings are as described, go to next step. If readings are not as described, check for an open or short in Yellow/Red wire between PDL/RKE controller connector and junction/fuse block WIP (15-amp) fuse. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary.
- Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, check for continuity at PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 10 (Black/Orange wire). See Figure . With all doors closed, continuity should not exist. With any door open, continuity should be present. If continuity is as described, ignition switch and door switch circuit test is complete. If readings are not as described, locate and repair open in Black/Orange wire between PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 10 and buzzer/warning controller at junction/fuse block. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
