DTC Confirmation Test

Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Drive vehicle at speeds up to 50 MPH in 3rd gear (M/T) or 2nd gear (A/T). Using scan tool read vehicle speed. Release accelerator pedal and allow vehicle to coast for 4 seconds or more. Using scan tool, check for pending or current DTC P0500.
