Interior Light & Ignition Switch Circuit
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect PDL/RKE controller harness connector. Connect negative battery cable.
- Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, measure voltage at PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 12 (Orange/Black wire). See Figure . Reading should indicate 10-14 volts at all times. If less than 10 volts, repair open, short or high resistance in Orange/Black wire as necessary. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If reading is 10-14 volts, go to next step.
- Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, check for voltage at PDL/RKE controller connector terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Red wire). See Figure . With ignition switch in OFF position, reading should be about zero volts. With ignition switch in ON position, reading should be 10-14 volts. If readings are okay, interior light and ignition switch circuit check is complete. If readings are not as described, repair power supply between PDL/RKE controller connector No. 4 (Yellow/Red wire) and junction/fuse block WIP (15-amp) fuse. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . See appropriate wiring diagram in POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
