Except Esteem 1.8L

Disconnect negative battery cable and Throttle Position (TP) sensor harness connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between indicated terminals. See THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE table.
